Problem

In the product texts, there was no standard or unit among the Product Designers. This caused inconsistencies in microcopies, different terms for the same action, and consequently, confusion for the user.

Solution

I identified the need and, in a proactive manner, developed a Tone and Voice Manual for the product, ensuring consistency of language and clarity in interactions.

Process

  • Online courses on tone of voice and UX Writing.

  • I researched manuals from big brands to understand best practices.

  • Validation with the Marketing department to ensure consistency in product and institutional communication.

  • I structured a comprehensive guide detailing:

    • When and how to use each word

    • Writing standards applied in different flows

    • Rules to avoid using terms from one product in others

  • Creation of an AI assistant to help other team members write for the product.

Result

The manual has become an internal reference for all the product designers on the team, ensuring standardization in communication, reducing ambiguities and strengthening the identity of the product.
